Ed Legget to join Artemis UK equity team

Ed Leggett has been selected to join UK-based fund manager Artemis later this year from Standard Life Investments, where he managed the £1.3 billion (€1.82 billion) UK Equity Unconstrained Fund.

Leggett will replace Tim Steer, who currently manages the £737 million Artemis UK Growth Fund. Steer has decided to retire from the partnership at the end of this year.

Artemis’ senior partner, Mark Tyndall, says: “We are delighted that Ed Legget will be joining us as a partner. Ed’s record speaks for itself. We are sure that investors in the Artemis UK Growth Fund will agree with us that, in Ed, Tim has a very worthy successor.”

Steer will hand over management of the Artemis UK Growth Fund to Leggett after a period of transition that is yet to be determined.

Artemis manages assets of around £22.4 billion across a range of funds, two investment trusts, a venture capital trust and both pooled and segregated institutional portfolios, as at May 31, 2015.
