MF Investors Alert: These 15 Stocks Held by 100+ Mutual Funds Surged Up to 131% in 2026

Mutual fund investors are increasingly watching stocks that have attracted holdings from a large number of fund schemes, and the latest 2026 data shows why. According to an ETMarkets analysis based on ACE MF and ACE Equity data, 280 stocks were held by more than 100 mutual fund schemes as of July 2026. Among these, 15 stocks delivered gains of roughly 50% to 132% during the first seven and a half months of the year. Welspun Corp led the group with a rally of about 132%, followed by APAR Industries and Ather Energy, which also more than doubled during the period. However, strong past performance and high mutual-fund ownership do not guarantee future returns, so investors should treat this list as a market trend rather than a direct investment recommendation.

15 Stocks Held by 100+ Mutual Funds That Surged in 2026

The latest data highlights companies from sectors such as industrials, power, healthcare, defence-related manufacturing, chemicals, electric mobility and engineering. A large number of mutual fund schemes holding a stock can indicate significant institutional participation, but it does not necessarily mean that all funds have the same investment view or that the stock will continue to rise.

Stock MF Schemes Holding CY26 Gain
Welspun Corp 111 132%
APAR Industries 164 106%
Ather Energy 180 102%
Hitachi Energy India 229 94%
Schneider Electric Infrastructure 103 91%
Acutaas Chemicals 144 83%
Data Patterns (India) 106 73%
Gland Pharma 138 72%
Kirloskar Oil Engines 154 69%
Laurus Labs 215 66%
Sona BLW Precision Forgings 221 66%
Solar Industries India 285 66%
Sai Life Sciences 158 60%
Adani Energy Solutions 221 54%
Neuland Laboratories 117 53%

Welspun Corp Leads the List

Welspun Corp emerged as the strongest performer among the stocks identified in the July analysis. Its share price rose from around ₹813 at the beginning of 2026 to approximately ₹1,883, representing a gain of about 132%. The company was held by 111 mutual fund schemes, with total equity mutual fund holdings worth around ₹3,624 crore as of July.

The company operates in the industrial products space, and its strong performance reflects the broader strength seen in several capital-goods and infrastructure-linked companies during the year. Investors should nevertheless distinguish between institutional ownership and the underlying business fundamentals before considering the stock.

APAR Industries and Ather Energy Also Crossed 100%

APAR Industries was another major outperformer, gaining approximately 106% in CY26. The stock moved from around ₹8,368 to ₹17,218 during the period covered by the analysis. Mutual funds held the stock through 164 schemes, with equity holdings valued at roughly ₹11,969 crore.

Ather Energy also delivered a triple-digit return, rising around 102%. The electric two-wheeler company was held across 180 mutual fund schemes, with mutual fund equity holdings of about ₹9,577 crore. The performance highlights the strong investor interest that electric mobility companies can attract, although the sector also carries significant competition, valuation and profitability risks.

Hitachi Energy India and Schneider Electric Infrastructure Gain Strongly

Power and electrical infrastructure companies also featured prominently. Hitachi Energy India gained around 94% in CY26, while Schneider Electric Infrastructure advanced about 91%. Hitachi Energy India was held by 229 mutual fund schemes, whereas Schneider Electric Infrastructure was held by 103 schemes.

The performance of these companies comes amid continued market interest in India’s electricity transmission, grid modernisation, industrial electrification and infrastructure spending themes. However, investors should examine order books, valuations, earnings growth and future capital expenditure before drawing conclusions from share-price performance alone.

Other Stocks That Gained More Than 50%

Acutaas Chemicals gained about 83%, while Data Patterns (India) advanced around 73%. Gland Pharma delivered a gain of approximately 72%, followed by Kirloskar Oil Engines at 69%.

Laurus Labs and Sona BLW Precision Forgings both gained around 66%, while Solar Industries India also rose approximately 66%. Sai Life Sciences gained 60%, Adani Energy Solutions increased around 54% and Neuland Laboratories advanced about 53%.

Solar Industries India stood out for the breadth of institutional participation, with the stock held by 285 mutual fund schemes and mutual fund equity holdings worth around ₹20,123 crore as of July. Sona BLW was held by 221 schemes, while Adani Energy Solutions was also held by 221 schemes.

Why Do Investors Track Stocks Held by Many Mutual Funds?

A stock held by a large number of mutual fund schemes can indicate broad institutional interest. Mutual fund managers generally conduct detailed research before adding companies to their portfolios, so changes in fund ownership can provide useful information about where professional investors are allocating capital.

However, the number of mutual funds holding a stock should not be used as the only investment signal. Different funds may hold the same company for completely different reasons, and their investment horizons can vary significantly. A stock can also fall sharply even when it is owned by hundreds of mutual fund schemes.

Should Investors Buy These Stocks After the Rally?

Not necessarily. A stock that has already gained 50%, 80% or even more than 100% in a short period may have a significantly different risk-reward profile than it had at the beginning of the year. Investors should examine valuation, earnings growth, debt, cash flows, competitive position and future business prospects before making an investment decision.

The latest list is therefore more useful as a market-research starting point than as a ready-made stock-picking list. It shows where mutual fund participation and share-price momentum have overlapped during 2026, but investors still need to conduct their own research.

Important Point for Mutual Fund Investors

Investors should also remember that mutual fund ownership data is based on a particular reporting period. Fund portfolios can change every month as managers buy, sell or rebalance their holdings. A stock appearing in this list does not mean that every mutual fund continues to hold it today or that the same number of schemes will hold it in the next portfolio disclosure.

The July 2026 data nevertheless shows a clear trend: several stocks with broad mutual-fund participation have delivered exceptional returns during the year. Welspun Corp, APAR Industries and Ather Energy were the biggest gainers, while companies such as Solar Industries India, Hitachi Energy India and Sona BLW attracted holdings from more than 200 mutual fund schemes. For investors, the key is to look beyond the headline return and understand whether the company’s fundamentals and valuation justify the current market price.
