HDFC Mutual Fund buys additional 10 lakh shares of Global Health for Rs 130 crore


HDFC Mutual Fund on Thursday bought an additional 10 lakh shares of Global Health, which runs a healthcare chain under the Medanta brand, from its co-founder Sunil Sachdeva for Rs 130 crore through open market transactions.

Last month, HDFC Mutual Fund (MF) purchased 10 lakh shares of Global Health from Sachdeva for over Rs 122 crore.

According to the block deal data available on the BSE, HDFC Mutual Fund purchased 10 lakh shares, representing a 0.37 per cent stake in Global Health.

The shares were acquired at an average price of Rs 1,300 apiece, taking the transaction value to Rs 130 crore.

Meanwhile, Sunil Sachdeva, co-founder of Medanta Hospitals, offloaded the shares at the same price.


At the end of the March quarter, Sachdeva owned 2.90 crore equity shares or a 10.79 per cent stake in Global Health.
Shares of Global Health slipped 0.41 per cent to close at Rs 1,311.35 apiece on the BSE.In May 2026, Global Health Ltd reported a 39.7 per cent increase in profit after tax to Rs 141.7 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026.

It had posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 101.4 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the company said.

Revenue from operations in the fourth quarter stood at Rs 1,159 crore against Rs 931.3 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
