Clean Science and Technology – Mutual funds trim stakes in 13 midcap stocks after two quarters of buying

An analysis of mutual fund (MF) shareholding trends in BSE midcap stocks over the last four quarters reveals a notable shift. During the March 2026 quarter, mutual funds trimmed their holdings in 23 stocks, marking a reversal after two consecutive quarters of accumulation, from June to September 2025, and again from September to December 2025.
The majority of stocks on the list have delivered negative price returns in CY26 so far. In fact, 13 midcap stocks have seen their share prices fall more than 10%, with some slipping as much as 30% in CY26.
Mutual funds are considered informed investors, often basing their decisions on in-depth research and long-term fundamentals. Mutual fund buying typically boosts investor confidence, but when they reduce their stakes after a period of steady accumulation, it’s worth paying attention to. (Data Source: ACE Equity)
