A lifelong passion has become a new healthcare service for the people of Market Harborough.

Residents across Market Harborough can now access a new specialist foot health service designed to keep people active, mobile and pain-free, whether they’re runners, busy professionals, people living with long-term health conditions or simply looking after their everyday foot health.
The new service is led by qualified Foot Health Practitioner Deb Green, who has established her own business at Archway Health & Wellbeing, bringing dedicated foot health services to the practice for the first time and expanding the range of healthcare available to the local community.

Deb’s journey into foot health began after seeing family members struggle with painful foot conditions through sport, work and everyday life. Witnessing first-hand the impact that foot pain can have on mobility, confidence and quality of life inspired her to retrain as a Foot Health Practitioner.
After qualifying in 2021 and becoming a member of The SMAE Institute, Deb spent the following years developing her skills by treating family and friends while continuing her full-time career in banking. Although she had worked in retail and banking for many years, her ambition was always to make foot health her full-time profession.
This year, she decided the time was right to put her best foot forward and turn the business she had been carefully building into her new career, allowing her to focus on what she enjoys most – helping people stay active, comfortable and pain-free.
Deb said: “I’ve always enjoyed helping people, and foot health quickly became much more than just a qualification – it became something I genuinely loved doing. Helping family and friends confirmed that this was what I wanted to do full-time.

“I’m delighted to now be following my passion and creating a business that helps people feel comfortable, confident and pain-free on their feet. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone walk in struggling and leave feeling like they’re walking on air.”
The new service is available to people of all ages and aims to help anyone experiencing foot problems, whether they’re caused by work, sport, lifestyle or underlying health conditions, or who simply want to keep their feet healthy and comfortable.
Treatments include routine nail care, corns and callus removal, fungal nail treatment, verrucas, athlete’s foot, plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot care and general foot health advice to help prevent future problems.
Every appointment begins with a comprehensive foot assessment before a personalised treatment plan is tailored to each individual’s needs. Alongside treatment, Deb provides practical advice to help people maintain healthy feet, improve mobility and continue enjoying everyday life without discomfort.
Danielle Hefford, Practice Manager at Archway Health & Wellbeing, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Deb to Archway and support her as she launches her own business. She has worked incredibly hard to gain her qualifications, build her experience and turn a lifelong passion into a profession, and we’re proud to be part of that journey.
“This is an exciting development not only for Archway but for Market Harborough. Healthy feet are something many of us take for granted until they begin to cause problems, yet they play such an important role in our everyday wellbeing. Whether you’re on your feet all day at work, enjoy walking, play sport or simply want to remain active and independent, good foot health can make a real difference. We’re delighted to be introducing this specialist service and making expert foot care more accessible for our local community.”
Deb added: “People often don’t realise how much their feet affect everything they do until they’re in pain. If I can help people keep doing the things they love – whether that’s playing sport, walking the dog, keeping up with family or simply getting through the working day comfortably – then I’ve done my job.”
