For decades now He-Man has been kept in the public consciousness thanks to the He-Man Sings / HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA fan-made music video. Now Epic Games has remade part of that video as an advertising stunt.
To show off He-Man, Skeletor and She-Ra as skins in Fortnite, we have a short promo (which you can watch in the embed at the bottom of this article) featuring the music and recreations of some of the scenes from that iconic video.
Unfortunately Epic Games really cut corners here. The video is very short and a long way from the full song which is just over two minutes long. We’re sure it would have been a lot of extra work to recreate the meme entirely but, come on, we’re sure Epic Games has the resources for that.
Our hope is that a full version will land on 6th June which is when the cosmetics will became available in the Fortnite Item Shop. Because that hasn’t happened yet we’re not sure what Epic Games is charging for each of these skins.
The video description does offer us the ability to “learn more” by clicking on this link, but it just takes us to the Fortnite website’s home page. That link will likely become live on 6th June when the cosmetics become available. There should also be a short news article on said site at the end of the week detailing the skins.
By the time these cosmetics are available, Masters of the The Universe (the new live action He-Man movie) will be available to watch in cinemas. It’s worth noting that the Fortnite skins use the classic designs of the characters straight from the 80s cartoon, instead of the newer designs used in the upcoming movie. This is a very smart decision as the older designs are iconic and the new movie still needs to prove itself.
