EUREKA, Utah (KUTV) — Residents impacted by the evacuations in Eureka will have an opportunity to grab needed supplies and commodities a day after being allowed home for a second time.
City officials said Councilmember Raeleen Maxfield will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building in Eureka on Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. During that time, Maxfield plans to hand out supplies to those in need.
Eureka residents were allowed back home after the rain, and cooler temperatures provided some relief to critical fire dangers on Sunday. The city remains under “SET” evacuation status, meaning residents should still be prepared to leave again should fire conditions change.

Eureka has been under careful watch since the start of the Iron Fire on June 19, forcing evacuations.
While residents were allowed to return home, a pair of new fires – the Cherry Fire and Maple Fire – started within the last week, prompting renewed evacuations that were lifted a short time later, thanks to a break in critical fire weather.
The wildfires have burned a total of over 70,000 acres in Tooele, Juab, and Utah Counties. As of Monday morning, Utah Fire Info reports the Iron Fire was 77% contained while the Cherry Fire, which officially merged with the Maple Fire, was 21% contained.
