By Friday, even the cats are over it.
By the time Friday rolls around, cats are just as tired as the rest of us. It’s been a long week of walking from one room to another, staring out the window, knocking something off a table, and then needing a nap to recover from all of it. Being that busy really takes a lot out of them.
You can tell they’re ready for the weekend when they start settling into their favorite spots earlier than usual. The couch looks extra comfortable. The bed becomes the main destination. They’ll curl up, stretch out, turn in a circle a few times, and get ready for what’s clearly going to be a very serious rest period.
Weekend plans usually involve finding the warmest place in the house and staying there for as long as possible. Maybe they’ll move to a new spot later, but only if it’s equally cozy. There’s no rush when there’s nothing important to do.
It’s hard not to relate when they look so content doing absolutely nothing. Sometimes the best way to spend the weekend is exactly like this.

Sometimes it feels like we’re just tired all the time. By the time Friday rolls around, a nap isn’t even a want, it’s a need. Just a quick lie down to make it through the rest of the day before the weekend starts. Suddenly the couch is calling your name and your eyes are already closing. At that point, it’s less of a choice and more of a Friday afternoon nap situation.

If we didn’t need to sleep, we would be unstoppable. No naps, no early nights, no fighting to keep our eyes open by Friday afternoon. Just endless energy all the time. Unfortunately, we’re more like this cat, ready to lie down at any moment and stay there for a while.
