The summer transfer window has officially opened and now that the World Cup has come and gone, clubs are working away on major deals. For most clubs, planning will already be complete and they will have identified which players they want to sign, and which players they want to sell.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals this summer. The rumour mill is still gathering pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories – you can access the full rumour mill below.
Today’s biggest transfer stories
Real Madrid are reportedly working on a deal to sign Rodri from Manchester City. The LaLiga giants are growing in confidence that the 30-year-old will agree to join them, with only 11 months left to run on his current contract.
Arsenal are said to be weighing up a swap deal that could see Julián Alvarez and Viktor Gyökeres move in opposite directions. Alvarez, 26, is a long-term target for the Gunners while Gyokeres, 28, is a target for the Spanish club. However, the Gunners would need to stump up a significant fee in addition to the swap.
AS Roma are keen on Fulham winger Oscar Bobb after missing out on Crysencio Summerville and Alejandro Garnacho. The Norway international only joined the Cottagers in January from Manchester City but could be tempted by a move to the Italian capital, say reports in Italy.
