Adele, 38, shared a rare insight into her life with her 13-year-old son Angelo on Saturday. In a video shared by McLaren Racing on YouTube, the “Someone Like You” singer revealed that she and her teenage son share a surprising passion for Formula 1 racing.
While speaking with McLaren CEO Zak Brown while taking a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre, Adele said she and her son are “really into karting and things like that,” adding that she became “obsessed” with the sport after Angelo began showing an interest in racing a few years earlier. “I don’t know many teenagers now that have an actual passion. So I’m really trying to encourage it,” she said. During the tour, Adele also had the opportunity to meet F1 driver Lando Norris.

When Brown inquired further about her son’s interest in F1 racing, Adele explained that she has made an active effort to support Angelo, who she shares with her ex-husband Simon Konecki. “When your kid has an interest, you have to get into it,” she told Brown. “And more importantly, I think you have to be interested in it.”
Though the “Hello” singer didn’t expect to bond over the sport with her teenage son, she added that the mutual interest has had a positive impact on their relationship as mother and son. “[I didn’t expect to] bond with my soon-to-be 14- year-old son about something so passionate,” she told Brown, adding that she and Angelo even argue about their favorite drivers. “But it’s fun to have that interaction with a teenage boy in 2026,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting it.”

In October 2025, Adele showed her interest in F1 racing when she attended the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, where she posed for a photo with drivers George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, per People. The team later shared the photo on Instagram, calling Adele’s surprise visit “iconic” in the caption.
