Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Automobiles & Parts and Industrial Metals & Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the declined 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were BP PLC (), which rose 2.81% or 13.75 points to trade at 503.80 at the close. Meanwhile, National Grid PLC () added 1.81% or 21.50 points to end at 1,212.00 and London Stock Exchange Group PLC () was up 1.46% or 122.00 points to 8,460.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Antofagasta PLC (), which fell 6.16% or 257.00 points to trade at 3,912.00 at the close. Flutter Entertainment PLC () declined 4.81% or 374.00 points to end at 7,404.00 and Fresnillo PLC () was down 4.65% or 145.00 points to 2,972.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 812 to 636 and 657 ended unchanged.
Futures for August delivery was down 1.91% or 81.15 to $4,164.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, for delivery in July rose 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $76.66 a barrel, while the August contract rose 1.05% or 0.84 to trade at $80.69 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.32, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.87.
The Futures was down 0.01% at 100.61.
