Nintendo Switch 2 has already been fully unveiled, and one of the critical points has been the price. In the United States, it will cost $449.99, a figure that the company has omitted during the Direct until the opening of the official website. The original console experienced a very high peak of imports due to the low strength of the yen. Nintendo has decided to put a stop to this and has taken the decision to launch a major lock.
Nintendo Switch 2 will have a unique model in Japan with these limitations.
In Japan, there will be a Japan-only edition that will have the following limitations: it will only accept Japanese Nintendo accounts and will have Japanese as the only available language. It will be sold for 49,980 yen, which is about $335 at the exchange rate. If the public in the country wants to buy a multi-language Nintendo Switch 2, they will have to pay an extra 20,000 yen, bringing the total up to 69,980 yen, or about $468.

The regional lock returns to Nintendo after a generation completely free of these barriers. Nintendo Switch 2 will be available on June 5. Pre-orders will be available from April 8 via My Nintendo Store and other participating retailers.
