The Weekly Meme Roundup: Costanza AI Edits, Funky Ehh, Pirate Gaster And More

Park that funky ehh and lock in, cause it’s time for the Weekly Meme Roundup, where we tell you everything you need to know about five of the biggest memes of the past week.

This week, George Costanza was given a million different makeovers by the AI-loving people of X, Mike Myers’ take on the Cat in the Hat was taken in a dark direction, a mysterious character from Deltarune was turned into a pirate and more.

Here’s what you need to know about five big memes that blew up on social media this week.

George Costanza AI Edits

The power of AI was put to use in an interesting way this past week as X / Twitter users became obsessed with transforming Seinfeld character George Costanza into everything he’s not.

The meme trend was started when X user @e_cdalton posted an edit of Costanza fully bald and with a beard. They expected him to look goofy with this combo, but instead, he kind of rocked the look.

This got people wondering: What are some other aesthetics that Costanza and the gang could pull off?

This inspired a wave of memes where AI is used to alter Costanza’s appearance in both flattering and funny ways. From there, the whole Seinfeld gang was pulled into the meme, resulting in a big trend that offers a fresh spin on the characters you know and love to hate.

Pirate Gaster

The Deltarune fandom was blessed with yet another in a growing list of memes this week thanks to a video of the character Gaster, but as a pirate.

For those who don’t know, Gaster is one of the most mysterious and beloved characters from the video game Deltarune.

In late June 2026, a thread blew up on X that eventually led to a fan-made video of the protagonists running into and fighting a version of Gaster as a pirate, surrounded by his pirate crew and his trusty parrot.

Fans loved this original depiction of Gaster as a pirate and latched onto the idea. Before long, social media sites were filling up with fan art and memes that play with the idea of Pirate Gaster, resulting in everything from videos of Gaster singing sea shanties to mock-ups of the imagined boss fight.

There was also some hope that the game’s creator, Toby Fox, might actually give fans a Pirate Gaster fight in the game’s next chapter.

It probably won’t happen, but that hasn’t stopped the fandom from relentlessly hoping in the past.

We’ll Drive a Funky Ehh

Fortnite prank videos have been blowing up in 2026, and now, a clip from one of these videos in which a kid mistakenly attributes a viral song remix to the late Oliver Tree has become a meme known as “Funky Ehh.”

This clip comes from a video by YouTuber cloudxxs. In the clip, a child starts singing the Janet Jackson song “Someone to Call My Lover.” But, when he’s supposed to sing the word “car,” he instead makes a noise that sounds like “ehh.” Adding to the confusion, the kid then says that the song is by Oliver Tree.

Confused, Cloud asks him why he said, “ehh,” and the kid plays a viral TikTok remix of the song that, sure enough, replaces “car” with a moaning sound.

There’s a lot to unpack in this meme, but ultimately, the misattributed claim that the song is by Oliver Tree and the “ehh” sound stuck out to viewers.

The clip went viral and inspired memes that play with these two ideas, including videos that continue to spread the false claim, and memes that associate the “ehh” sound with an image of Gumball Watterson sighing and sweating.

Disturbing Cat In the Hat Memes

TikTokers were determined to ruin your nostalgic memories of the 2003 movie The Cat In the Hat this week with memes that reinterpret scenes from the film in disturbing ways.

The memes began at the end of June 2026 when TikToker @dannykelvin47, or DaleTok, posted a scene of Mike Myers’ Cat in the Hat dancing under a caption that represents the Cat as someone who overdosed two weeks after prom.

It’s a very dark joke, and the contrast between that dark joke and the cheery footage of the Cat dancing really struck a chord with a lot of viewers.

From there, Reels and TikTok users ran with the meme and started attaching the darkest, most disturbing captions possible to otherwise innocent clips from the film.

The best versions of the meme use some of the strangest moments from the film, such as a scene in which the Cat is used as a piñata, or a scene where the Cat hangs a babysitter in a closet by a coat hanger.

Now, the trend has evolved to include AI-generated footage that depicts the Cat as a horror movie monster. Some of these videos include found-footage-style videos where the cat stalks through the house in the dark, offering a very disturbing twist on the character.

Mighty Eagle

Finally, the Angry Birds Movie version of the character Mighty Eagle has been popping up all over social media recently, and some fans seem to be just a little thirsty for him.

Mighty Eagle has been a staple in the Angry Birds video game and media franchise since its humble beginnings in 2009.

He’s a pretty powerful character in the games. Players can summon him by throwing a can of sardines at the pigs. He swoops down and demolishes the stage, greatly helping players win even the toughest levels.

In the movie, the character has comedically let himself go, but he’s still viewed as a powerful hero to some, including Chuck, who has an extended fantasy about Mighty Eagle being super ripped and heroic.

This scene, and other scenes of Mighty Eagle, have been the subject of memes and fan content for years. However, they’ve seen a significant boost in virality lately as users attach funny captions to his clips.

These captions range from innocent to deranged to downright thirsty, as apparently a considerable chunk of the franchise’s fanbase finds him kind of hot. Who knew?
