New Day Cafe: Middle School Meme Wear

Welcome to the New Day Cafe! This is an open thread.

My dad and I are planning to attend my twin nephews’ middle school graduation in mid-June. My sister recently came up with a terrible, in my opinion, idea, namely that we would all dress in clothing with 2025-era middle school slang and memes on it. She feels confident that this will embarrass her kids but also make for good pictures to look back on. Whatever.

She asked if my dad and I would commit to wearing these tee shirts she found. Like any semi-sensible person, I replied “no”.

Unfortunately that seemed to make her sad. Even at our ages, she’s still my little sister, so I felt terrible making her sad. I backtracked and agreed to wear the capybara shirt only. As you know, I like animals, and it seemed like a goofy shirt as opposed to a sad lady trying to seem cool and funny shirt.

What would you do in this situation?
