Bitcoin Suisse has reached another milestone in its international expansion. Its subsidiary, BTCS (Middle East) Ltd., has received Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).
The approval allows the Zug-based crypto financial services provider to offer regulated digital asset services to institutional and professional clients across the United Arab Emirates.
Regulated crypto infrastructure
The approval marks the completion of a multi-stage licensing process. BTCS Middle East can now provide regulated services including trading, custody, and the management and hedging of crypto exposures.
Bitcoin Suisse brings more than a decade of experience across multiple crypto market cycles to the region. The group currently holds $3.7 billion in crypto assets under custody and ranks as the world’s fourth-largest staking provider, according to the company.
Focus on institutional clients
The expansion into Abu Dhabi is intended to strengthen Bitcoin Suisse’s position as a partner for institutional investors, family offices, asset managers, and wealthy private clients.
Clients in the UAE will gain access to institutional-grade infrastructure, a regulated environment, and dedicated relationship managers. As the market develops, BTCS Middle East also plans to provide clients with access to tokenized real-world assets.
«Significant milestone»
«The granting of the FSP by the FSRA is a significant milestone in our international growth strategy,» said Ceyda Majcen, CEO of BTCS Middle East. The approval was the result of more than a decade of experience in building resilient infrastructure, robust risk frameworks, and trusted client relationships, she added.
ADGM also sees the company’s expansion as a sign of the financial center’s growing strength in digital assets. Arvind Ramamurthy, Chief Market Development Officer at ADGM, said Bitcoin Suisse’s expansion underscores the strength and maturity of Abu Dhabi’s digital asset ecosystem.
Founded in Zug in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse employs more than 200 people across Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the United Arab Emirates, and Bermuda.
