Russell Investments Appoints Ayesha Parra as Global Head of Alternatives


Russell Investments has announced the appointment of Ayesha Parra as the new Global Head of Alternatives. Parra, who joined the firm in July 2024, will be responsible for leading the global strategy for the company’s alternatives platform. Based in the New York office, she will also serve as a member of the firm’s Operating Committee.

In her new role, Parra will oversee a team of specialists focused on integrating private markets into Russell Investments’ broader solutions business. This integration aims to enhance diversification and expand the firm’s capabilities in the alternative investments space. Her appointment signals Russell Investments’ commitment to providing institutional and retail investors with greater access to private market opportunities, including infrastructure and credit.

Extensive Experience in Asset Management

Parra brings nearly two decades of experience from Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) to her new role. During her 19-year tenure at GSAM, she held several leadership positions across various business units. Most recently, she was instrumental in the General Partner stakes team within the External Investing Group. Additionally, Parra’s earlier career saw her as a senior Commodity portfolio manager within GSAM’s Fixed Income Group, where she was responsible for the growth and development of the Commodities business, managing key client relationships, and overseeing risk across portfolios.

With Parra’s appointment, Russell Investments is poised to further strengthen its alternative investment offerings, catering to the evolving needs of its global client base.
