Macquarie’s Simon Wright, the head of the financial services giant’s commodities and global markets business, took home $28.2 million last year, earning more than chief executive Shemara Wikramanayake, whose pay fell as the investment bank battled a spate of regulatory issues.
Wikramanayake earned $27.9 million for the full year on statutory measures after her total remuneration dropped following Macquarie’s first-ever strike against its pay report last year. She took home $29.3 million in the previous year.
