Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has appointed Alvaro Rubio as a fixed income ETF portfolio manager from JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM).
Based in London, Rubio will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of GSAM’s fixed income ETFs including minimising tracking error versus underlying indices and managing trading strategy during rebalances.
Previously, Rubio spent six years at JPMAM, including almost four years in fixed income ETF portfolio management roles.
Prior to that, he began his career with two years as an analyst at DWS covering ETF and index investing.
Rubio’s arrival marks GSAM’s second appointment from JPMAM in recent months, after the firm hired Bryon Lake as global head of ETFs in May to replace outgoing ETF head Mike Crinieri.
The leadership reshuffle also saw GSAM EMEA ETF head Peter Thompson retire in May.
Last week, JPMAM promoted Travis Spence to global head of ETFs with immediate effect.
