The Punt Acca: George Bonds’ three horse racing tips at Epsom and Fairyhouse on Tuesday

Ryehill (2.15 Fairyhouse)

Ryehill sets the standard in the opener at Fairyhouse, with Ross O’Sullivan’s gelding seemingly at his best on testing conditions. Despite being lightly raced this year, the eight-year-old has put in some solid performances and has managed to raise his game this campaign, notably when beating Ontheropes and subsequent St James’ Place runner-up It’s On The Line at Naas in February. His own performance in the St James’ Place at Cheltenham shouldn’t be discouraged as he was off the pace for a long time but kept on well, and he is worth another chance in this smaller field.

Magico (2.45 Epsom)

Magico heads into this race on the back of two narrow second-place finishes and looks poised to go one better. In his latest outing at Doncaster, he faced four rivals who reoppose here including Stressfree, Rathgar and eventual winner City Of Delight. That day Magico may have finished in front had he not hung left in the closing stages, but he meets City Of Delight off 2lb better terms. The continued use of cheekpieces is a bonus and should help him reverse the form.

Jazzy Matty (5.05 Fairyhouse)

Jazzy Matty scored for the second time at the Cheltenham Festival, claiming this year’s Grand Annual in comfortable fashion. Connections have opted to revert to hurdles for just the second time this season after he finished a good second, giving winner Samui weight, at Thurles in January. There are a few concerns over the ground with Cian Collin’s six-year-old preferring slightly quicker conditions. However, off a17lb lower hurdles mark, he should be respected coming into this.
