Fast-food giant McDonald’s has unveiled its latest meal offering, the Collector’s Meal, which comes with collectible cups inspired by its other past collectibles.
Available for a limited period, the new meal will be offered throughout the day.
During breakfast hours, the Collector’s Meal comprises a Sausage McMuffin with egg, hash browns and coffee.
For the rest of the day, customers can choose Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac with fries and a soft drink.
Each meal is accompanied by one of six specially designed collectible cups.
The keepsake collection features a range of designs, including Barbie and Hot Wheels cups that re-imagine classic Mattel toys, and a Coca-Cola cup celebrating the beverage brand’s long-standing collaboration with McDonald’s.
Another cup pays tribute to the Beanie Babies phenomenon, featuring characters such as the Golden Arches Bear from 2004.
There are also cups dedicated to Hello Kitty, Peanuts, Shrek, Jurassic Park and the Minions.
The final cup in the series includes designs of The Grimace Glass, Boo Buckets and Funny Fry Friends.
McDonald’s collaborated with a team of artists to reinterpret characters and past partnerships.
Customers can also try an augmented reality experience on Snapchat by scanning their cup or visiting McDonald’s Snapchat profile.
From 13 August 2024, the Collector’s Meal will be available through the McDonald’s app, in-restaurant, and via drive-through.
McDonald’s new business ventures head and global chief marketing officer Morgan Flatley said: “There’s an undeniable thrill when you snag that one elusive McDonald’s collectible or the final piece to complete your collection. We’re bringing back some of our most-loved keepsakes with a twist, giving fans a memory that they can hold in their hands.
“These new collectible cups commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing longtime fans to relive treasured moments and helping a new generation make their own lasting memories.”
“McDonald’s launches Collector’s Meal with six collectible cups ” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
