During their 14th Golf Fun Day held recently at the DPM Tsumeb Golf Club, Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb successfully raised N$230 000.
The event brought together 24 teams from leading institutions and industries for a day of friendly competition and community support.
The teams teed off at 08h00, enjoying a full day of golfing excitement until 17h00.
An evening prize-giving ceremony followed, where winners were honoured for their exceptional performance on the course.
Deputy Minister of Sports Emma Kantema- Gaomas graced the event, highlighting the significance of sports and community engagement.
The evening celebration also recognised the sponsors whose contributions were vital to the tournament’s success, all aimed at uplifting the local community. Zebra Kasete, managing director of DPM Tsumeb, expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and participants, acknowledging their unwavering support in making the event successful.
He noted the company’s commitment to community partnerships, and its mission to uplift the communities in which they operate.
The Dundee Precious Metals Community Trust emerged as the winner, while MTC was recognised as the best sponsor for their significant contribution.
The event’s champion will have the opportunity to nominate a local charity to receive 30% of the proceeds raised, further promoting goodwill and community support.
The Tsumeb Golf Club will receive 20% of the proceeds, and 10% is earmarked for young golfers in Tsumeb.
The remaining 40% will be divided between Walter Heibeb and the Arts Performance Centre in Tsumeb.

Notable sponsors such as Old Mutual, Nashua and Graphium Namibia generously supported the event, underscoring their commitment to community development
