KOSDAQ-listed Beck is targeting the Edge Data Center market, which is emerging as a key infrastructure in the artificial intelligence (AI) era. It plans to cooperate with industrial AI company Korea Livestock Data (AID) and industrial AI transition (AX) platform company Sim Platform to respond to the rapidly increasing demand for on-site (edge) data processing.

Vect announced on the 15th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AID to promote the Modular Data Center (MDC) project. AID previously signed an agreement with Sim Platform to spread MDC-based digital infrastructure. Through this cooperation, the three companies decided to establish a system for joint MDC projects by combining their core capabilities.

MDCs are growing rapidly thanks to the expansion of AI infrastructure, power and land shortages, and fast deployment demand. It is a representative solution in the field of edge data centers.

In particular, MDCs can be built near the site where data is generated. Compared to existing centralized data centers, data processing latency can be reduced and operating costs can be reduced.

AID is the first company in Korea to commercialize “edge-type container MDC” that combines information technology (IT) infrastructure and AI platform and complete a plug-and-play system that operates immediately when plugged in. It has proven its technological prowess in the global market by supplying MDC to India, Malaysia, and the UK. Vect has a nationwide sales network and installation and maintenance capabilities through more than 20 years of digital signage business. Sim Platform has platform technology that collects and analyzes AI data generated in industrial sites and utilizes it.

The three companies plan to develop their businesses in various fields ranging from primary industries to high-tech manufacturing industries, not limited to specific industries.

Yoo Chang-soo, CEO of Vect, said, “The demand for on-site data processing is increasing rapidly due to the spread of the AI industry. The three companies will lead the market with differentiated MDC competitiveness that combines their strengths.” “We plan to quickly secure initial success stories and advance beyond Korea and overseas,” he said.
