Herrick named in England U19s squad for 2025 UEFA Euro Championships

Finlay Herrick has been named in the England U19s squad for the upcoming 2025 UEFA European U19 Championships in Romania.

The call-up follows an impressive debut season at U21 level, in which the West Ham goalkeeper kept a league-high eight clean sheets in Premier League 2, a return that saw him nominated for the PL2 Player of the Season award as the only goalkeeper on the shortlist.

On the international stage, Herrick, who has represented the Young Lions since U16s, has earned four caps for Will Antwi’s U19s this season. Across their qualifying campaign, England only let in one goal in their six games, with Herrick contributing with two clean sheets in his two appearances against Lithuania and Türkiye.

The Young Lions qualified for this summer’s finals by topping Group 7 in the elite round of qualifying in March, thanks to a draw with Türkiye, a win over hosts Wales, and a decisive final-game victory against Portugal.

That followed a strong first round in Bulgaria, where Antwi’s side beat both the hosts and Lithuania and drew with Belgium.

England begin their tournament against Norway on Saturday 14 June before taking on Germany and the Netherlands. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
