Silver futures rise to Rs 2.53 lakh/kg

Silver prices rose 0.82 per cent to Rs 2,53,800 per kg in the futures trade on Thursday, amid renewed uncertainty over US trade policy.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the white metal for May delivery increased Rs 2,058, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 2,53,800 per kilogram in a business turnover of 2,095 lots.

Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.
In the overseas market, Comex silver futures increased USD 80.41, or 1.84 per cent, to USD 90.44 per ounce.
