Three more alleged sex offenders receive high bonds in Jackson Municipal Court


JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Three more individuals arrested by Jackson Police on sex crimes have received high bonds in Jackson Municipal Court.

On Monday, Kemarius Lewis, Marquiz Wright and Hashem Ben-Yisrayl made their initial appearances, where they each received bonds in the millions in connection with their alleged offenses.

Lewis, 20, received a $2 million bond on one statutory rape. According to information revealed in court, he allegedly gave his victim two sexually transmitted diseases.

Wright, 26, received a $6 million bond, or $2 million bond each on one count of statutory rape, capital kidnapping, and exploitation of children.

Bond also was set at $2 million for Ben-Yisrayl, 26, on one count of capital rape.

Bonds were set by Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Reynolds.

All three were arrested by the Jackson Police Department between August 14 and August 16, according to the Hinds County Detention Center’s website.

They were still behind bars early Monday afternoon.
