The New Fund Offer (NFO) will remain open from March 11 to March 18, 2025.

Investors can subscribe with a minimum investment of ₹100, and additional investments can be made in multiples of ₹1.

The fund aims to generate income by investing in high-quality short-term debt and money market securities. It offers low to moderate risk, making it suitable for investors seeking stability, liquidity, and short-term returns.

Given the expected rate cuts and increased liquidity in the banking system, Edelweiss Mutual Fund sees this as an opportune time for investors to consider low-duration funds.

The Edelweiss Low Duration Fund will be managed by Pranavi Kulkarni and Rahul Dedhia. The fund follows an actively managed strategy to balance risk and returns while maintaining high credit quality in the portfolio.

Investor interest in low-duration funds has been rising, with the category witnessing net inflows of ₹6,618 crore in the last six months. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is expected to inject more liquidity into the banking system by cutting policy rates and making bond purchases through Open Market Operations (OMOs) in FY26.

These factors are likely to lead to easing short-term yields, making low-duration strategies attractive for investors.

Radhika Gupta, MD & CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, highlighted the tax benefits of debt mutual funds under the new tax regime.

She said, “The Edelweiss Low Duration Fund caters to both individual and institutional investors looking for short-term investment options with low to moderate risk. The recent tax changes make these funds tax-efficient, as investors with an annual income up to ₹12 lakh can benefit from the rebate available under the new tax regime.”

The Edelweiss Low Duration Fund is designed for investors seeking short-term investment opportunities while maintaining capital preservation and liquidity. However, investors should consider interest rate risks and market fluctuations when making investment decisions, the fund house said.
