North Carolina Commodity Pool Operator Hit With CFTC Fraud Suit


The CFTC sued a North Carolina commodity pool operator and an executive who had solicited investments for the fund, alleging they defrauded investors out of more than $14 million through false claims about profitable trading.

Trevor Vernon and Argent Capital Management LLC violated federal commodities laws by operating an unregistered investment pool from March 2022 through February 2026, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission said in a complaint in the US District Court for the Western District of North Carolina announced Tuesday.
