Sensex: Market Now: These stocks surge up to 20% amid choppy trade

NEW DELHI: Shares of IZMO Ltd (up 20 per cent), LCC Infotech (up 20 per cent) and BS Ltd (up 19.35 per cent) surged up to 20 per cent on NSE in Thursday’s trade even as benchmark indices kept cautious stance ahead of August derivatives expiry.

Stocks such as Kakatiya Cement (up 16.23 per cent), Fag Bearings (up 14.30 per cent), Sarda Energy (up 12.93 per cent), Andhra Cements (up 12.61 per cent), Indian Metals (up 12.25 per cent), Adlabs Entertainment (up 12.21 per cent), Compucom Software (up 11.16 per cent) and Banaras Beads (up 10.50 per cent) jumped over 10 per cent.

In the Nifty pack, Wipro, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto, Maruti and Power Grid gained over 1 per cent.

Broader BSE SmallCap index was outperforming benchmark Sensex as it was trading 0.42 per cent up at 15,934 around 1.45 pm (IST).

Sensex and Nifty50 both were 0.07 per cent down at 31,623 and 9,878, respectively, around the same time.

All sectoral indices continued trading in red, barring Nifty Auto index which showed intermittent choppiness.

PSU bank and pharma index led among the sectoral losers.

In the Nifty50 pack, 21 stocks were trading in green, while 30 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,170 stocks were advancing whereas 765 stocks were lagging.
