Never Mind Neymar, English Clubs Still Outspent Europe This Transfer Window

After Thursday’s record-breaking 228 million euros ($272 million) of purchases, the Premier League ended its player-transfer period spending almost twice as much as its nearest European rival. England’s top soccer league spent a total of 1.56 billion euros, up 23 percent on 2016, Deloitte’s Sports Business Group said. Spanish clubs have until midnight on Friday to complete any further deals.
